The Victorian Government invested 223.5 million to expand the Latrobe Regional Hospital.

The third stage expanded the maternity unit and delivered three operating suites, 44 inpatient beds and 14medical and surgical beds.

There are also six new intensive care unit beds, a new emergency resuscitation bay, medical imaging and pathology unit.

The expansion also includes a $6.5million six-bed emergency department mental health, alcohol and other drugs hub.

The expanded hospital features:

  • a new emergency department resuscitation bay
  • 6 bed emergency department mental health hub
  • six intensive care unit beds
  • 7 new operating theatres
  • 64 inpatient beds
  • 6 new birthing suites
  • 12 bed special care nursery
  • 10 bed paediatric unit
  • a medical imaging and pathology unit
  • central sterile services department.

Installation includes

  • 1 x additional new medical breathing air compressor matching existing
  • 1 x additional new medical suction system.
  • 2 x new CSSD compressor system
  • New medical carbon dioxide manifold system
  • Connect to existing medical nitrous oxide system
  • Connect to existing tool air system
  • Supply, install and commission medical gas reticulation complete with valve isolation boxes and tool air boxes
  • Connection to medical pendants
  • Supply and install medical gas outlets
  • Supply and install medical gas alarm system
  • Supply and install BMS interface
  • Connection to medical pendants
